Welcome to WriteForRights!
If you’re reading this, thanks for your time. I am a first generation immigrant born in Bangladesh and raised in the United States. My blog is about Bangladeshi immigrant experience as well as women’s lives in Desi culture and society. I write lots of poetry and informative articles.
Writing has been my passion since the time I’ve learned to hold a pencil. It’s a part of my life and also the best way I can express myself to bring out the stories I want to tell. When I started college, I met great professors along the way who added fuel to my passion. The lessons I learned in their classes go beyond the classroom, they are life-lessons that made me want to grow as a person. They’ve influenced me to write and share. My education has raised awareness about racial, cultural and social issues and allowed me to empower myself as a woman.
One thing I’ll be forever grateful for in life, is my mom. She is my role model that I always look up to. She has taught me the value of love and patience. She lived her life unselfishly devoted to the needs and dream of her children. She has raised me to be independent, to think for myself and to work hard. Everything I am or will ever be is because of my mom.
P.S. If you have a topic in mind that you want me to write about, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t hesitate to leave your feedback as you read so I can continuously improve my blog. Happy Reading!
Let reading set your mind free!
