In the land of the free, so they say,
Where dreams are made, night and day,
A feast for the eyes, a spectacle grand,
But behind the curtain, a different hand.
Well, aren’t you glad to be here?
In this land of irony, nothing is clear.
Hard work may be praised with empty applause,
While powerful men dictate our cause.
Speak up, oh the people!
Let your voice resound,
But watch as it echoes without touching the ground.
For in this illusion of democracy’s reign,
Only the chosen few truly entertain.
America, where hope and disillusion dance,
Where ideals crumble beneath circumstance.
Emotions run high in this paradoxical land,
As we try to grasp its ever-shifting sand.

Oh my goodness Hammer on the head. This speaks volumes to the reality we are living here in America, . Especially the end about grasping for ever shifting sand. Every line had a point. This totally resonates with me so much. Love this!
