Interviewer: Assalamu Alaikum. How are you brother?
Walaikum Assalam. I’m doing well brother.
Interviewer: I would like to ask you a few questions, if you can answer for me.
Yes no problem.
Interviewer: Okay let’s start with your name. What is your name brother?
My name is Mohammad Raihan.
Interviewer: How long have you been driving a rickshaw?
Almost seven years now.
Interviewer: Do you face any problem with this work?
No, not really.
Interviewer: Do you like doing this work?
I’m obligated to do this to fulfill my family needs.
Interviewer: Are you able to support your family with this income?
Couple of years ago, I used to earn more money driving a rickshaw. But now the rent for the rickshaw has gone up and there are tons of new rickshaws than they were before. I make less money and I can barely afford daily expenses. The daily expense for the rickshaw is 200 tk so I always have to push myself to make more than that.
Interviewer: Do you go to school?
Yes I did before. I completed eighth grade.
Interviewer: Why did you stop going to school?
I had a family emergency that’s why I had to stop and work.
Interviewer: How many people are there in your family?
There’s three people, my father, mother and including me.
Interviewer: One last question, I have for you. If you had a choice to select your dream job, what would it be?
I never thought of driving a rickshaw. I didn’t want this for me but I had to do it due to circumstances. If I was to select my dream job, I would work for a company that would pay me decent salary so I can live well with my family.
