Creation of Adam
Adam was formed by Allah using clay, as He molded him with His divine hands and gave him life. This act of creation highlights Adam’s special position as the first human being, endowed with exceptional knowledge and intellect that set him apart from all other creatures.
Life in Heaven
Adam was placed by Allah in Paradise, a splendid garden where he lived with his wife, Hawwa (Eve). It was a realm of everlasting joy, brimming with plentiful blessings and pleasures. Adam and Eve enjoyed the glory of Paradise and were granted unrestricted access to all its offerings, except for one tree.
The Forbidden Tree
Adam and Hawwa were given a command by Allah to refrain from eating from the Tree of Knowledge, which served as a test of their obedience. However, they were tempted by Satan and deceived into consuming the forbidden fruit, leading to their disobedience of Allah’s command and the occurrence of the first sin.
Dismissal from Paradise
Adam and Eve came to understand their mistake and felt remorseful after they disobeyed. Allah, in His mercy, forgave them but decided that they had to leave Paradise and descend to Earth. This removal marked the beginning of their earthly journey and the tests and trials that humanity would confront.
Repentance
Adam and Hawwa expressed deep remorse for their disobedience. They sincerely repented, acknowledging their mistakes and seeking Allah’s mercy.
Descendants of Adam
Adam and Eve are considered the forefathers and foremothers of the entire human race. Their descendants, who were many in number, are believed to be the ancestors of all human beings. This idea of human unity serves to strengthen the Islamic principle of equality and brotherhood among all individuals, regardless of their racial, ethnic, or social backgrounds.
